Milaha Welcomes Arrival of First Vessel on Direct Qatar-India Route

Following its announcement last week of the first direct container shipping service between Qatar and India, Milaha welcomed on March 26th, 2015 the arrival of MV Convent on its maiden voyage from Nhava Sheva port in Mumbai, India to Doha Port in Qatar (NDX service).

The arriving vessel was received by high-level official dignitaries, including Captain Abdulla Al Khanji, CEO of Qatar Ports Management Company (Mwani); Captain Ahmed Ali, Ports Adviser to the Qatari Transportation Minister; Dr. Mark Betts, Executive Director of Operations at Muntajat; and Mr Yousef Al Faihani, Director of Supply Chain at Muntajat. Milaha’s senior management, including President and CEO Mr. Khalifa Ali Al-Hetmi and Michel Deleuran, Executive Vice President for Maritime, were also present at the reception.

Commenting on the official launch of the service, Milaha’s President and CEO Mr. Khalifa Al-Hetmi said: “The new service is a continuation of Milaha’s longstanding commitment to being a provider of supply chain solutions to its customers, particularly those in the Qatari market.
