Milaha celebrated Qatar National Day by holding a series of events derived from the heritage and culture of the State of Qatar, followed by a luncheon at the company’s headquarters in Ain Khaled. Among the activities held by Milaha in a Qatari-themed tent with majlis, adorned with pictures of Qatar’s past and present: a booth for fans of falconry, with a chance to hold and take a picture with a falcon; henna painting; oud station; and an Ardah performance. In addition, the luncheon featured traditional Qatari dishes, such as Harees and Logaimat.
The activities were highly welcomed by Milaha’s staff who developed a greater understanding of Qatar’s journey in history, started by the founder Sheikh Jassim bin Muhammad Al Thani. Milaha’s Chairman and Managing Director H.E. Sheikh Ali bin Jassim Al-Thani said that the National Day is “an occasion that is dear to the hearts of all those who live in Qatar as it allows us to renew our allegiance to the wise leadership that put the welfare of the Qatari society at the top of its priorities.” H.E. Sheikh Ali added that on this day “we confirm the solidarity between the people and the leadership based on the values set forth by the founder Sheikh Jassim bin Muhammad Al Thani, and carried forward by HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.”
For his part, Mr Khalifa Ali Al-Hetmi, President and CEO of Milaha, said that on National Day, “we celebrate the many successes achieved by Qatar locally, regionally, and internationally,” and added that “these accomplishments would not have been possible without the unity between the people and the wise leadership of HH the Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani and HH the Father Emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.” Mr Al-Hetmi congratulated the citizens and residents of Qatar on this grand occasion as he participated in Milaha’s National Day activities.
