The British Safety Council (BSC) has granted 8 outstanding prestigious Awards to Qatar Navigation Q.P.S.C. (“Milaha”), the industry-leading provider of maritime and logistics solutions in Qatar, in recognition of its commitment and continuous efforts to realize excellence performance in domains of health, safety, and environment management.
During a ceremony, Milaha, represented by four business units, namely Corporate Services, Shipping Agencies, Container Shipping, and Gas & Petrochem, have received four prestigious “Sword of Honour” awards and other four “Globe of Honour” awards, respectively.
Commenting on this outstanding achievement, Mr. Fahad Bin Saad Al-Qahtani, Milaha’s Group CEO, said: “We are honoured to win these prestigious awards for the seventh consecutive year. Milaha won these awards after achieving the highest grade of five stars in the BSC’s health, safety, and environment management evaluation process. An impartial panel of worldwide experts demonstrated this achievement and determined that it complied with industry best practices for addressing health, safety, and environmental risks.
Meanwhile, British Safety Council CEO Mike Robinson commented, saying, “Our occupational best practice of Health and Safety Audit led to the awarding of a five-star grading to Milaha. This is an outstanding achievement that demonstrates the organization’s proactive commitment to continuous improvement of all health and safety arrangements, as well as its ability to manage risks to workers’ health, safety, and well-being”.
Milaha has undergone a comprehensive, quantified, and robust evaluations of its occupational health and safety policies, processes, and practices. The BSC has performed an audit process that involved reviewing documentation, interviewing top management, employees, and other key stakeholders, and taking samples of operational activities.
The audit processes have measured performance against key health and safety management best practice indicators, including a detailed review of almost sixty component elements. Milaha is proud to have received this grading after these thorough reviews and assessments.
