Milaha was established in 1957 as a public "shipping agency" characterized at that time with high credibility among its customers. In a short time, Milaha transformed itself into a leading and giant international prestigious company that provides trustworthy "Maritime & Logistics" services that attract its customers' confidence in GCC, the Middle East, and around the globe. As a heavy-scale and pioneering company, Milaha strongly focuses on providing integrated transport, marine services, and supply chain solutions. Milaha has owned an integrated "Shipyard & Fabrication" comprising and operating two floating docks, one Shiplift, and several extensive workshops facilities with the ability to carry dry dock and float repair work for vessels up to 230m LOA. The Shipyard, established in 1978 and located at Mesaieed Industrial City, offers various and efficient maritime services, repair and refit services to all types of vessels and yachts, not only in Qatar but also to entire GCC states and the international vessels dock at Doha ports.

Fleet
When the company’s operations started in 1958, Milaha chartered several tugs and barges. Over the following years, the company’s fleet grew in number, size, and type of vessels, including owning and operating geared bulk and break bulk carriers. With the transformation of global freight and shipping methods from break bulk to containerized cargoes, the company decided to adapt to that change and started a new building campaign focused on a specialized container vessel. Today Milaha owns and operates a fleet of modern specialized container vessels which is among the largest in the Arabian Gulf and provides daily services to Hamad & Mesaieed Ports linking Qatar with the rest of the world.

Milaha wins 8 prestigious International Health, Safety, and Environment Management Awards from British Safety Council (BSC)
11 November 2022In recognition of its commitment to and achievement of “world-class” health, safety, and environmental management standards, Milaha has been awarded by the British Safety Council four of each of the prestigious “Sword of Honour” and “Globe of Honour”. Milaha has now been awarded the Sword of Honour for a fifth consecutive year and the Globe of Honour for a fourth consecutive year.
Milaha was one of only 4 organizations worldwide that won the “double”, both the Sword of Honour and Globe of Honour in 2022, and the only one to win multiple (4) of these.
Meanwhile, Eng. Mohammed Abdulla Swidan, Interim PCEO at Milaha stated: "since the Covid pandemic broke out in 2020, international companies faced tremendous health, safety, and environmental challenges. As a pioneering company, Milaha also has experienced the same challenges, however, with the Grace of Allah and the endeavors exerted, we managed to overcome them by implementing strict health, safety, and environment management precautionary measures which led at the end to winning these BSC’s awards”.
It’s to be recalled that Milaha has won these awards after achieving the maximum five stars in British Safety Council’s health, safety, and environmental management review scheme based on demonstrating to an independent panel of international experts the meeting of industry best practices for health, safety, and the environment.
On his turn, Peter McKittrick, Chairman of the British Safety Council, said: “On behalf of the board of trustees and staff of the British Safety Council, I would like to congratulate Milaha on achieving the highest standards of health, safety, and environmental management. Achieving recognition of this sort takes real dedication and absolute professionalism. We are proud to support your organization in its achievement and delighted we can contribute to your ongoing success”.
By achieving these awards, Milaha has positioned itself among the top international companies and winners’ that demonstrated health, safety, and environmental excellence during work.
